Some useful tactics for finishing:
SEAL THE BORDERS - No new ideas get in, even if they’re relatives of material that’s already in the piece. If you let one new thing in, it often wants to bring its friends. Plus, a new thing has to be rewritten and polished, and that means the finish line is getting farther away not closer.
CONTAINMENT - Isolate each problem or issue. Go house to house, line by line. No individual knot or messy patch can hold out for long when everything around it is working for the common good.
