Beth Lapides created Un-Cabaret in reaction to reactionary mainstream comedy. It is an un-misogynistic, un-homophobic, un-xenophobic experiment in personal comic narrative. And it has led to some of the deepest, darkest, funniest rants and stories on any stage anywhere.

Un-Cabaret live shows have featured and fostered a who's who of progressive comic talent including Julia Sweeney, Michael Patrick King, Larry Charles, Margaret Cho, Bob Odenkirk, David Cross, Laura Kightlinger, Kathy Griffin, Greg Behrendt, Taylor Negron, Sherri Shepherd, Patton Oswalt, Jeff Garlin, Andy Dick, Janeane Garofalo, Dana Gould, Andy Kindler, Merrill Markoe and many others.

Un-Cabaret's Say the Word delivers the same stunning first-person confessional comedy in a more literary spoken word form at the Skirball Cultural Center since 2000.

Beth & Greg's teaching at the Un-Cab Lab has also spawned many alumni shows including the monthly Un-Cab Lab Show at M-Bar in Hollywood.
